Iâm sure there are locations where you can easily get this. As for me, I chose to go to Sta. Rosa City Hall to have it processed. That was actually my Plan B. Yesterday, I woke up at around 9:00 am for my initial plan was to go to Robinsonâs Mall and check if I can get my NBI clearance there. NBI office inside that mall is not operational yet.
I arrived in NBI Laguna District Office (LAGDO) around 10:20 am. I read some of the postings their and saw that people can actually start lining up as early as five in the morning. I still decided to join the queue even if there were hundreds of people in front of me. It was somehow a relief to know that the office wonât take any (lunch) break. Here are the steps I took in order for me to get the clearance:
1. Get the NBI clearance application form. You have to show at least one valid ID. Complete the data in the application form.
2. Pay for the clearance fee (amount depends on the purpose of the application).
3. Have all the information in your application form be encoded in the Data Entry counter. This particular process tested my patience. Though there were two counters in this step, itâs not enough for the number of people on queue.
4. Image capture and finger scan will be next. If you do not have any âhitâ or namesake, your clearance will be released on that day. For those with âhitâ, they will give your receipt indicating a date as to when you can go back to claim your clearance.

I waited for almost 5 hours to complete the whole process. If you are planning to finish everything in one day, bring bottled water, biscuits, candies, gadgets like your cellphone or ipod, or a book to keep yourself busy. And please do not forget that patience is a virtue, you will be needing tons of those.
